Summer blooms in the neighborhood

I never knew our neighbors had such beautiful flowers in their front gardens. Today I took pippa on a walk, and took a picture of all the pretty flowers I saw. Now that I think about it, the variety of colors in these flowers is quite astonishing. Also, it would have never crossed my mind that our neighbors had such gorgeous flowering plants. There are a couple I did not have the courage to take a photograph of because the owner of the house was sweeping right next to it. Maybe next time.

This flower tree was buzzing!!! It was infested with bees! I'm sure it has plenty of delicious and nutritious food for our new friends; why else would they be hanging around this pink beauty.

Spot the bee?

That's all on flowers. Until next time :)

The 5am Club: Let's wake up at 5am!

For the longest time now, I have been wanting to become an early bird. As a nigh owl, this is definitely a great challenge for me because I have trouble sleeping early as well as trouble sleeping...period! The other day I tried going to sleep at 11pm and ended up falling asleep past 12am. Needless to say, I wasn't able to get up when my alarm went off at 5am. Another thing, I am a lover of sleeping and naps.  Even though I have failed my attempts to wake up early in the past few days, I am still trying. I haven't given up (I think I get early-bird points for that, no? lol).

I thought that inviting my friends to do this with me would be a motivator. However, none of those lazy butts wanted to join me. One even said,

"I'll wake up at 5am when hell freezes over but I will support you in spirit."

Yes, I appreciate the "spirit" support, but will not come close to sharing the waking-up-early struggle. Then a miracle happened, my sister agreed to attempt this challenge with me! So, as of now, the plan is to start tomorrow - Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

The reason why I am interested in getting into the habit of waking up at 5am (or 6am), is because I always read that the most successful people wake up super early. As many of us, I aspire to be successful too. It makes sense that staring off your day early will give you extra hours to get more things done. Also, to do the things you keep saying you "want" to do but keep telling everyone you have "no time" for. I have a feeling that if you're anything like me, those those things may include: exercise, do homework, have peaceful ME-time, or have more time for your hobbies.

Lately, I have read some articles that talk about personal experiences of people deciding to wake up at 5am, that have had amazing results. They claim it changes their lives, that it gives them more energy, and that they are much happier now. To be honest, another reason why I want to do this is  because those claims seem a bit too extreme. Too good to be true! Thusly, I want to see for myself. I want to experience waking up early for a good chunk of time and see what results I get. By "chunk of time" I mean a month or more.

Now, having said all of that, I would like to extend the invitation to all you lovely people reading this post. As I told my friends: Lets wake up at 5am to become better people (as in, an improved version of the person we are today) and accomplish more goals. Join me, we can do it together!

I will give updates on how its going on my social medias (Twitter, Periscope, Snapchat & Instagram), where you can find me at @NalaAdor

I am hoping to be able to keep it up. So:

May the force be with me!!!

5 Great Hangout Places in Glendale California

Hi guys!
If you find yourself stranded in Glendale, CA; have no fear! Just head to one of these hip spots and you'll live. Haha...

Seriously though, next time you are going out with your friends, you should try one of these places. Im sure you will enjoy yourselves here. So, in no particular order, here are 5 great hangout places in Glendale, California.

1. Octopus Japanese Restaurant -  I personally love their stake rolls (pictured below), the salmon, and the alaskan roll. So, so good, you don't even know! If you get a chance to go here, try these items. Also, the miso soup is really yummy.

2. Pinkberry - its in a great place at the Americana on Brand. You can sit-in or get a spot outside in one of the tables or sit in the park area of the mall. I love it. The picture below is my usual order. Small original flavor yogurt, with blueberries, watermelon, crunchy melted chocolate (this scoop is an extra 50 cents, and I do not know the real name of it, lol), waffle cookie all drizzled with honey. Its the BOMB!

3. Hot Dog on a Stick - at the Glendale Galleria. Its in the third floor where its usually not packed with people. They have tables and there where you can enjoy your food and your delicious lemonade. I really love their original flavor lemonade, best part is that its made with real lemons, sugar and water. Thats it. The other flavors have flavoring added but this one does not. One of the workers mentioned that the fries are the same ones that McDonalds uses but that they use "better" oil. I thought this was funny.

4. Richie Palmer's Pizza - this is also at the Americana on Brand mall. They have a sitting area and its very relaxing sitting with your friends next to the huge fountain on the side. I really liked this pizza, even though it looks super plain, its very yummy. I believe this is the New York Cheese Pizza. Recommend!

5. Billiards Corner - on S. Central St.; the workers here are always polite and friendly. Its a great environment to have some beers, snacks/appetizers, and play some pool! It does not get packed here, but theres always people there so it never feels like its lonely.

Thats all folks!

Visiting Google at North California (pictures)!

Hi everyone!
In my San Fran Road Trip post I mentioned that on our way back home we had the opportunity to visit Google's Headquarters. Their location is near San Jose, more specifically in Mountain View, California. This visit was not a tour but we got to look around and even used their colorful bikes. I do not advise this because, they aren't supposed to used by the public. However, we did not know this and grabbed one of the many there. Below are a few pictures I took. Hope you enjoy :)

Review: Spring Street Smokehouse Bar-B-Que

If you find yourself in the Downtown Los Angeles area looking for a place to eat, then I highly recommend you stop by the Spring Street Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. Do not let the exterior fool you, it is not a fancy or big restaurant. It is a cozy place with a relaxed place, which with its unique decoration you'll feel you're at your friends house eating and drinking from their garage. I mean that in the best way possible, many people go there to hangout with friends in casual attire, like jeans shirt. Here you can be loud and proud while drinking your fancy beer.  Even though the ambiance is casual, the service is top notch. Your waiter or waitress will come by to check on you every so often, and if you ask, they will recommend the best beer they have that day in rotation.

Now, lets get into the meat of this post, the food! Just thinking about the burger I had (pictured below) makes my mouth water. Their barbecue is not over powering, and the meet is generously poured on the meat. They also have bottles of barbecue on your table each with a different level of spice. Along with the extra barbecue at the table, you also get a huge roll of napkins that of course come in handy when you're having anything with barbecue. I had a West Coast burger with pulled pork, onion rings and cheese and coleslaw... it was perfect. I ordered my burger with a side of fries that were the thick and very flavorful. I paired my burger with their beer called Duet IPA. If I'm being honest here, this beer was too bitter, however, my friend said he really liked it. So now you have two opinions to choose from. I think that if you're a beer lover, then you will appreciate their beers much more than me.

Nala Ador on Tumblr!

Hello beautiful people from all around the globe!
This post is to let you know that now  I am also on Tumblr. My username is nalaador, of course. Still figuring this out but it seems pretty simple. So far, I feel it's a very laid back type of system or blog, which I like. The reason I like it is because I feel I can post anything there on the fly, specially when I am unable to make a post here on my website. For that reason, I'd love it if you could follow me there. This way, we can stay in touch more frequently when I cannot sit and make a cute post for y'all :)

Today I did something on Tumblr that I've never done...

I posted an outfit of the day!! I feel like such a fashionista! Hahaha. Anyway, hope to see you there.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. Very much appreciate it :)
